Every version of Now or Later, newest first. Settings shows which version this device is running.
1.22 Latest
A shorter address. Now or Later now lives at now-or-later.app. Opening the old address takes this device's lists and sync settings along automatically.
If you added the app to your Home Screen or Dock, add now-or-later.app too, then remove the old one once your lists show up.

Archive list asks first. Choosing Archive list in a list's ••• menu opens a box that says what will happen, with Archive list and Cancel. If something on the list isn't checked yet, the box says so instead of the menu quietly doing nothing.
Inviting someone to a shared list now opens People and links with your new link, what to do with it, and a Copy link button. The link is still copied for you, and the button shows ✓ Copied. People and links is also where you invite someone else.
Move list left and Move list right are grayed out when a list is already at that end.
1.20
Better with a screen reader. Each checkbox and ••• button now says which todo it's for, and each list has a heading with how many todos are left, so VoiceOver and other screen readers can jump from list to list.
The ••• menus work from the keyboard. Focus moves into the menu when it opens, the arrow keys move through it, and Esc closes it and puts you back where you were.
The Undo note stays put while you're on it with the keyboard or a screen reader, not only while your mouse is over it.
Color choices have names instead of codes.
Behind the scenes, the app and the sync service now share one copy of the rules for merging your devices, the morning move from Tomorrow to Now, quick add and older Done, and those rules have tests.

List tabs on your phone. A row of small tabs under the title shows which list you're on. Tap one to jump straight there, Done included.
Plainer sync. The Sync page leads with invite links, and the address and token sit under Set up by hand. When sync has trouble, the message says what happened in plain words.
Sync trouble now shows in amber, and red is saved for deleting. Delete buttons are a little darker, so they're easier to read.
Opens faster on a weak signal. If the network is slow to answer, the app opens from the copy saved on your device after a few seconds instead of waiting. Fonts no longer download again after each update.
On a wide computer screen, Done fits next to your lists again.
The welcome tour mentions that you can double-tap a todo to change it.
This page now folds the first days of updates into one note.
1.18
Done stays quick. Done shows your latest 100 finished todos, with Show more below them. Todos finished more than three months ago are tucked away so the app doesn't slow down as Done fills up. Searching finds them, and Look further back at the bottom of Done shows them all.
Backups still include everything, older todos too.
Clocks can't cause trouble. If a phone's clock is off, its changes used to win (or lose) when they shouldn't. Now every device keeps time with the sync service.
No more quiet failures. If your device runs out of storage space, you'll see a note saying changes may not be kept, instead of losing them without a word. A restore now comes with an Undo, and if the safety copy on the sync service can't be made first, you're asked before anything changes.
Buttons on a note at the bottom of the screen, like Undo, now work while Settings is open.
1.17
Archive a finished list. Temporary lists are gone, and every list you added yourself works the same way now. When everything on one is checked, tap Archive list on the note that pops up, or in the list's ••• menu. Nothing gets archived unless you ask. Archived lists wait at the top of Done, and Use again brings one back unchecked.
Archiving works on shared lists too, and archives the list for everyone on it.
See who's on a shared list.People and links in a shared list's ••• menu shows who's on it and any invite links nobody has used yet. Whoever shared the list can take someone off it or take a link back.
Device links are safer. A link that connects another of your devices now works once, within a day. Settings > Sync > Advanced lists your devices, so you can sign one out.
Bigger targets, steadier lists. Checkboxes and buttons are easier to tap, typing no longer zooms the page on iPhone, and a long list scrolls to the todo you just added.
Shortcuts with Option. If single-key shortcuts get in the way, open the shortcuts sheet (press ?) and turn on Hold Option, so N becomes Option-N.
The sync badge only shows up now when something needs your attention, like being offline.
Behind the scenes: a device that's been offline for months can't bring back todos deleted long ago, and a todo added from a Shortcut can't get lost if it arrives while another device is syncing.
1.16
Temporary lists. For a list with an end, like packing for a trip: tap ••• on a list and choose Make temporary. Once everything on it is checked, the whole list moves to Done, at the same time finished todos do.
Finished lists wait at the top of Done. Use again brings one back with every todo unchecked, ready for the next trip. Lists in Done don't count toward the 10.
1.15
Add from anywhere. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, a Shortcut can drop a todo into Now without opening the app, from Siri, the share sheet, the Action button or Back Tap. Settings > Sync has what the Shortcut needs, and Support walks through making it.
On Android and in Chrome, the installed app shows up in the share sheet, and long-pressing its icon offers Add to Now, Add to Tomorrow and Add to Later.
Each line of shared or pasted text becomes its own todo, and Undo takes them back out.
1.14
Send feedback. Settings and the Support page now have a Send feedback button. It opens an email to me with the version and device already filled in, so you can just say what's on your mind.
1.13
A welcome for new people. The first time someone opens Now or Later, three short pages explain what Now, Tomorrow and Later are for, how mornings work, and how to sync, restore a backup or add the app to the Home Screen.
It only shows on a device that had no lists yet, so nothing changes if you already use the app. To see it, open Settings and choose Welcome tour.
1.12
A new address. Now or Later now lives at now-or-later.tweetingbirds.com. Opening the old address shows a Move button that brings this device's lists and sync settings along.
If you added the app to your Home Screen or Dock, add the new address too, then remove the old one once your lists show up.
1.11
A new name: Now or Later. It matches the lists you start with, Now, Tomorrow and Later. Your lists, sync and settings are unchanged.
If you added the app to your Home Screen, it keeps its old label until you remove it and add it again. Backups you save now are named now-or-later-…, and older backups still restore.
1.0 to 1.10
The first version and the days of polish right after it. I made it to work like the paper notebook it replaced.
Three lists to start: Now for today, Tomorrow for the next page, and Later for someday. Rename them, recolor them, reorder them, or add more, up to 10.
Checked-off todos stay in their list for the rest of the day, then move to Done, grouped by date, or right away if you'd rather. Done can be searched and filtered, and anything in it can be put back.
Each morning, unfinished Tomorrow todos move into Now. You can turn this off in Settings.
Drag todos between lists by the ⋮⋮ handle, or use the ••• menu. Undo appears after anything you might regret.
Dark mode, keyboard shortcuts on a computer, and an app icon that looks like a notebook page.
Add it to your Home Screen and it works like an app, even offline.
Sync between your phone, iPad and computer, with invite links, nightly copies kept for 30 days, and backups you can download and restore.
Shared lists, so one list, like Groceries, can be shared with someone else while the rest stay yours.
